• Hiltons, Va. is the home of the Carter Family Fold and Museum. Established in 1979, the Carter Fold is open every weekend.
Keith Memorial Park was dedicated on October 21,2000. The Park consists of 17+ acres of land purchased by Scott County for development into a recreation park. From the beginning the park has been developed by volunteers.
A beautiful authentic log cabin, 32X64, which accommodates about 100 guests, is the focal point of the park. This building is managed by the Nickelsville Senior Citizen Club, who takes care of the rental for public and private usage.
Other facilities in the park include a one mile walking trail in a beautiful, natural setting, a full size baseball field, a little league baseball field, picnic facilities with 2 shelters that will accommodate up to 50 people, plus several family size picnic tables set in areas of easy access. A concession stand, an amphitheater for music and other events, and accessible rest room facilities are available.
At the entrance of the park is a magnificent War Memorial, of African black granite. Names of all Scott County soldiers who lost their life as far back as the Indian wars are listed on the beautiful monument.
There is also playground equipment for the children and a paved basketball court for many hours of fun and exercise.
