Geocaching
Hundreds of geocaches are hidden throughout Scott County, many of which were placed around the county by the Scott County Tourism Committee in 2009 at historical sites throughout the county. Today, caches can be found in almost region of Scott County. Most recently, the Scott County Tourism Committee established a new geocache trail. (See below.) Once all the caches are found, Scott County Tourism will provide you with a special, trackable geocoin that you may keep or place in another location. Our first trackable geocoin, which commemorated Virginia’s 50th Year of “Virginia is For Lovers,” was extremely popular and one has traveled 12,000 plus miles to Australia. Today’s geocoin celebrates “WanderLove.”
