About this space
Nostalgia and comfort at Mamaw’s House. We are honoring our Mamaws, Grandmother, Granny and mothers; their talents, interests and sharing their love with you. Everyone belongs at Mamaw’s House. The family areas are for fun, games and conversation. The sitting room, breakfast area, porch, and “mud” room give you a place to relax. Keeping with modern times, each of the bedrooms have their own workspace, full size mirrors, and high speed internet. So come on in and stay awhile.
The space
Vintage and feminine. Since the house is a tribute to the mportant women in our life we took special care to choose furniture and accessories that they would love or that was actually theirs. As with a real Mamaws house, the floors creak and the home shows it’s age in several areas. We have improved many areas but feel that the “wrinkles” add to the character of the home. Outside there is a flowing creek, mountain views and a holler behind the home. Birds and deer are frequent visitors.
Guest access
Guests can access the property by a coded front door.
Late check in is no problem.
This code is changed after every guest.
Other things to note
This is a rural community. We are proud of the natural beauty around us. There are many local spots we can recommend for music, hiking, and good food. We are 5 minutes from Natural Tunnel State Park. 5 minutes to Clinch River, 10 min to Town limits. There are 4 hospitals within 35 mins. (Ballad)
